Target Photo Sessions

For awhile I was obsessed with getting Sami's photos taken. I'm pretty sure I got her picture taken once a month. So here are some of her photos.

I'm sorry!!

So I'm horrible at updating this blog. I apologize to all of you faithful blog checkers! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy. I will post more pictures during Sami's nap!

New Bows!!

On Wednesday Me, Sami and Gigi (Grandma Terri) took a trip to Pink Hippo. Wow, what a store that is. We had so much fun there...maybe a little too much fun. Sami has beautiful bows now. Here are a few pictures of her.

Go Hawks!

Sami went to her first Iowa game today. As Grandma Terri put it, "Samantha is the youngest Iowa fan, but the prettiest!" And that is so true. Nick and I probably get the award for bad parents because we took Sami to Pal Joey's for her first Iowa game. Yes, we had a baby in a bar, but we didn't stay long because it was so loud in there. I felt horrible for Sami, but amazingly enough she slept through all the noise. She woke up a little bit before half time and we decided that it was time to go!
P.S. You can probably tell from these photos, but Sami is gaining weight just fine these days!

Samantha's Room

So I know I should have posted these pictures a long time ago, but I've been slacking on the blog page. Here are some photos of Sami's room. We went with the pink giraffe theme. The first picture is the "before" picture and the rest are the "after" photos. And by "after," I mean that Aunt Traci came over and spiced up the walls. She is so good at doing that. I don't know what I would do without her decorating and painting skills. And I can't forget to mention Lucy, who is the five and a half foot stuffed giraffe that is in Sami's room.

4 Weeks Old

Wow, time sure does go fast these days. It's hard to believe that Sami is a month old. It feels like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital. But let me tell you, in this last month Nick and I have learned so much and our lives have forever been changed! (But for the good, of course.)

Samantha is a great baby. I'm sure her worst days are some babies best days. She is not that big of a crier (and I hope it stays that way!) For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Samantha or hearing her on the phone when you are talking to me, you are missing out on some crazy noises. Samantha has an underdeveloped windpipe which makes her squeek all the time. Sami has been told she sounds like a doggie squeek toy or Canadian geese. This sound is really one of a kind. She makes this noise when she sleeps, eats, basically all the time. But the good news is we have just found out that she is gaining the appropriate amount of weight and she will just outgrow this instead of having to have surgery. We are so thankful for that because surgery is a big word for such a little girl!
Some more good news, Nick got a new job. He will be a personal banker with Wells Fargo. He starts the beginning of September. He is very excited. And for the next week Nick gets to be home with Sami and I. He is turning into quite the Mr. Mom! It's such a great help having him home for awhile. I too, have started a new job. I am going to start my own freelance court reporting business. I've got a few things lined up, but hopefully business will take off. I must say, being laid off from the State was a huge blessing. I love being at home with Sami and I love the fact that I can now be my own boss. Everything happens for a reason!

Samantha Kay..

Samantha Kay made her enterance into the world at 4:42 p.m. on July 26, 2009 (her actual due date). She weighed 8 lbs 7 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She is absolutely perfect and healthy! I don't have a lot of time to write a lot today, but I figured I would post some pictures of her for you to see! Enjoy.

Bittersweet

Well. as of June 23, 2008, you can no longer e-mail me at work. Due to budget cuts and the fact that I have the least seniority, I was permanently laid off from my job. There were three reporters laid off and I was one of them. So if you need to contact me, please e-mail my hotmail account or call me cell phone. Everything at my work has been shut off.

For the time being I'm going to enjoy the tail end of my pregnancy. I'm going to finish up a few transcripts that I have had ordered and then wait until after our baby is born to figure this mess out. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and I know this will all work out. We have a wonderful support system with our family and friends, and we are so greatful for that.

On a positive note, this (hopefully) could actually be a good thing. In four short weeks is my due date. Then we will have a beautiful baby to occupy my time. I recently went to the doctor and she is healthy as can be. They still think the 26th is the due date, but for insurance reasons we are hoping she comes before then! Today I'm actually considered full term, 36 weeks. They believe she is right around 6 pounds. We have the names narrowed down to two names. She will either be Samantha or Abigail. Also, we have been working on the nursery so I will have pictures very shortly to show all of you!

80% done...

I'm 32 weeks along (8 months) this week. As Nick put it this weekend, "We are 80% done. Only 20% more to go!" It's crazy to think how time can go so fast and yet so slow. We are both realizing this baby is coming fast and we are very excited.

Here are some pictures of the baby "bump." Well, it's not really a bump anymore. It's more like a beach ball!

Too Cute!

So Nick and I are probably up for the award, "worst aunt and uncle." Sophia, Kristen and Marc's little girl, is the cutest baby ever and I have not posted one picture of her. So here is a picture of our niece, Sophia Lucille Magill! She is seven and a half months old and a great addition to the family.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

After the doctor check for 2 hands, 2 feet, and 10 fingers and toes she told us we are having a girl! The look on Nick's face was priceless. His first two comments were, "We are going to have more than one kid now." And the other comment was, "She is still getting golf clubs!"

Here is a picture of our little girl. If you can read it it says, "I'm a girl!" And just for the record, the white spot in between her legs is an arrow.

Baby looks 100% healthy. All her measurements are right on track and my due date is still the same, July 26th. She weights 1 pound. We are so thankful that she is healthy!

Who wants to play?

On Friday I came home from a hard day's work and this is what I saw when I walked in the door...

I bet many of you can image what the first three words were out of my mouth, What the ... And the response I got was 2 grown boys giggling like little school girls. They said they wanted to build a fort so they knew how to put one together once the baby was born. As you can see this is not a small fort. This is ALL the sheets and a majority of blankets from our house. In this fort you could probably fit 6 adults and play a game of cards. In fact, that's one of the things the boys were doing.

The best part about their "fort building adventure" was they decided to play dress-up with my maternity clothes.

And I know this is going to be really hard to believe, but Nick and Josh were completely sober when they built this. I must say it was a very elaborate fort. I'm now confident that our child will never go without having a fort to play in.

The bump

Well, it finally happened. I've got the baby bump. I swear just yesterday it wasn't there, but when I woke up this morning there was no missing it. It's amazing what can happen overnight.

Only 23 more LONG days until we find out if baby is a girl or a boy and it's killing me! I'm hoping since this baby's last name is Hague that means it's not going to be modest and will cooperate for the ultrasound. I will be very upset if we can't find out.

A lot of people are telling me I'm going to be having a boy. I'm starting to feel like I agree with them. All of the wives tales say it is going to being a boy, the Chinese calander says it's a boy, but the heart rate was 150 at the last appointment which hypothetically means it's supposed to be a girl. Who knows.
